Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of the controversial film Kabir Singh, has revealed that Karan Johar texted him to express his appreciation for the movie. Vanga also discussed the criticisms and accusations of misogyny and violence that his films have faced.

At a recent roundtable event, Karan Johar praised Animal, calling it the best film of 2023. He commended its front-footed, conviction-based narrative and said it broke myths. When asked about Karan’s praise, Vanga expressed surprise, as he didn’t expect him to enjoy the Shahid Kapoor starrer.
Shahid Kapoor’s Reaction to Animal
When asked if Shahid Kapoor had texted him about Animal, Vanga replied that maybe Shahid hadn’t seen the film yet. The director also spoke about his upcoming projects, including Spirit with Prabhas and Animal Park.

Kabir Singh, Vanga’s first Hindi film, was also surrounded by controversy. However, he was surprised when Karan Johar appreciated the film, despite the accusations of promoting misogyny and violence.
