Lana Del Rey Had a Blast at the 2024 Grammys Despite Not Winning Any Awards
Lana Del Rey: “I Literally Just Loved Being There”
Lana Del Rey didn’t let her lack of wins at the 2024 Grammys bring her down. In fact, she says she had a great time.
“I literally just loved being there. I love to see everyone, get the tea and hang out. Get dressed up,” Del Rey wrote in a comment on Instagram.
“I literally did not feel 1 ounce of negative emotion at any point in that award ceremony. It was pure funniness and laughter,” she added.
Del Rey was up for five awards at this year’s Grammys, bringing her total career nominations to 11. She was nominated for best alternative Music album and album of the year for her album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. She was also nominated for best alternative music performance and song of the year for her song, “A&W,” and best pop duo/group performance for her collaboration with Jon Batiste, “Candy Necklace.”
Despite not winning any Awards, Del Rey looked stunning on the red carpet in a floral black dress with puff sleeves and a coquette bow in her hair. She accessorized with bow-flanked little black gloves, a black handbag, and Fred Leighton jewels. She even had more bows on her heels.
Taylor Swift Praises Lana Del Rey in Her Acceptance Speech
Taylor Swift, who won album of the year for her 10th studio album Midnights, gave a shout-out to Del Rey during her acceptance speech. She praised Del Rey as a “legacy artist” and a “legend in her prime.”
“I think so many female artists would not be where they are and would not have the inspiration they have if it weren’t for the work that [Lana has] done. I think she’s a legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now. I’m so lucky to know you and to be your friend,” Swift said.
