Sports Entertainment: Kylie Kelce Talks Fame, Body Positivity, and the Kelce Family
Kylie Kelce Opens Up About Her Newfound Celebrity Status
Kylie Kelce, wife of Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, recently spoke out about her newfound celebrity status, admitting that she feels a bit guilty over the attention she’s been receiving.
“I almost feel a little guilty that people are so interested and invested in what I’m doing,” she said in an interview with “Good Morning America.” “I’m like, ‘I am trying to scrape applesauce off the couch.’ This is not that fascinating. So it’s funny to me. I deeply appreciate the support.”
Kylie’s rise to fame began ahead of Super Bowl LVII, during which her husband’s team, the Eagles, faced off against her brother-in-law Travis Kelce‘s team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs ultimately won the game, but Kylie’s down-to-earth personality and relatable anecdotes quickly made her a fan favorite.
Balancing Fame and Family Life
Kylie, who is also a high school field hockey coach, spoke about the challenges of balancing her newfound fame with her family life. She and Jason have three young daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, and Kylie said she is always mindful of the messages she sends to them, especially when it comes to Body Positivity.
“I am now hyper-aware of how I talk about myself and my body,” she said. “Not only in front of my daughters but in front of my players. I think it’s important to model that Positive Body Talk about yourself because then they are taking that away from what you’re doing.”
Kylie said she is also intentional about creating a positive Body Image environment for her daughters. “We’re making it a point now to emphasize a positive tone when we talk about anything body-wise,” she said. “Like our one daughter will sort of rub her belly and I’m like, ‘Oh, that is the most beautiful belly I’ve ever seen.'”
The Kelce Family’s Future
Kylie also spoke about her husband’s future in the NFL. Jason is currently a free agent, and there have been rumors that he may retire after spending his entire 13-year career with the Eagles.
“I think that whatever he does he’s going to be successful in, and I’m not just saying that because I’m his wife,” Kylie said. “I think it’s his Personality.”
Kylie said she will support whatever decision Jason makes, but she joked that his skills on the field do not transfer to the kitchen. “I only trust him to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our three daughters,” she said.
The Kelce family will be in the spotlight once again this weekend when Travis Kelce and the Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Kylie and Jason, as well as their parents and Travis’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, are all expected to be in Las Vegas for the big game.
