Prasanth Varma and Tejja Sajja’s Hanu Man Surprises at the Box Office
Hanu Man, a contemporary retelling of Lord Hanuman’s epic story, has exceeded expectations at the box office, particularly in Hindi. The film, directed by Prasanth Varma and starring Tejja Sajja, outperformed Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s Guntur Kaaram, released on the same day.
Hanu Man‘s Momentum in Hindi
Initially, Mahesh Babu‘s Guntur Kaaram took the lead, but Hanu Man gained momentum daily, propelled by positive word of mouth. The film has continued to perform well at the box office even in its third week, not only in Telugu but also in Hindi.
South films doing well in Hindi is not a new phenomenon, but the films that usually work are big-budget spectacles backed by huge stars like Prabhas, Yash, or Allu Arjun. However, a rather small-budget film with lesser-known names doing well in Hindi in recent times is a first.
Hanu Man‘s Box Office Performance in Hindi
In its first week in Hindi, Hanu Man minted about Rs 24.5 crore. In the second week, it added another Rs 16 crore. Over the last two days, it added another couple of crores, taking the grand total of the film in Hindi beyond Rs 42 crore.
Going by the current collection pace, the film should end up with Rs 45 crore collection by the end of the week.
Hanu Man‘s Success in North America
Hanu Man has also crossed the US $5 million mark in North America (USA and Canada), making it one of the most successful Telugu films there.
Hanu Man Faces Competition from Fighter
Hanu Man is currently facing competition from Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, which released just four days ago and has already entered the Rs 100 crore club.
Despite the competition, Hanu Man continues to perform well at the box office, demonstrating the power of a well-made film with a strong story and compelling characters.
